The Bronze Frogs are an Limited Edition of 100. Each Frog has a different Patina to create individual characteristics and make them individualized. Each frog is individually numbered and has been given a name. Included with the bronze frog you will get a small certificate of authenticty, and a bag to store the frog in. The Frog artwork is fully dimensional, solid casting and is 1.24 Inches Tall, 1.5 Inches from tail to nose and 2.5 Inches from fin tip to fin tip. Bronze: Is a metal alloy produced by blending copper and tin in various amounts, depending on the application. Additional elements such as manganese, lead, and phosphorous are added to create bronze with specific properties Lost-wax casting: Sometimes called by the French name of cire perdue, is the process by which a bronze is cast from an artist's sculpture; in industrial uses the modern process is called investment casting. An ancient practice, the process today varies from foundry to foundry, but the steps which are usually used in casting small bronze sculptures. Patina: There are 3 basic types of patinas; hot, cold and buried. Hot patinas are applied to a hot bronze surface by brush or spray. Cold patinas are applied to a room temperature bronze by spray, brush or dipping into a solution. Buried patinas are made by applying a patina solution to a bronze wrapped in a sealed container and left to slowly color.
